Cat's ESOX and multi species Guide Service
My love for fishing started when I was 10. Fishing with my grandfather was a real treat. ... he taught me patience... and to stay very quiet in the boat. We fished together often, and we also caught lots of fish !
My late aunt owned and operated a resort on the Wolf River near New London Wisconsin, where I first learned to use and enjoy artificial lures, while casting for big pike. We caught many large northern pike on the famous weedless "daredevel" one summer... from then on, I was hooked on all types of artificial lure fishing.
I also enjoy live bait fishing in the spring for walleyes, crappies, and bluegills. I regularly fish for smallmouth bass, and for the larger muskies and pike with sucker minnows in the fall fishing season

There is nothing like the thrill of a fish caught on a homemade artificial lure....this idea started the making of the first "Cat's Tails Bucktail" we made in 1994
Our best guiding day ever was 6 Muskies in the 38"- 46" range, before noon! My personal best is a 53" Musky caught on the Lake of the Woods, for which I was awarded Lunker of the Month by Muskies Inc. August 1998.
I guide fish in the Hayward Lakes area of Wisconsin, and my favorite lakes are:
- The Chippewa Flowage
- Moose Lake
- Lake Namakagon
- Upper & Lower Clam Lakes
- Lost Land/Teal lakes
- Spider Lake
- Ghost Lake (spring and fall)
- Big Lac Court'Orielles
- Whitefish Lake (if accessable)
- Trolling Lake Superior for Trout & Salmon
- The West Fork of the Chippewa River for smallmouth, walleye and muskie
Other Lakes I know very well are the great fisheries of Bone Lake, Deer Lake, and The Apple River Flowage in Polk County of NW Wisconsin
